Great alternative to sliding door option

This worked well for our German Shorthair Pointer as we have large windows. Using a sliding door insert wasn't an option for us. It would have left too small of a space to walk through. Th install was pretty easy. Make sure you are measuring the 1" space inside the opening. Ours was just shy of that, but the outside of the opening was right on. We had to do some maneuvering to get it to stay tight. Gypsy loves her new freedom!

Awesome addition!! Don't question it, just pay for it!!

I bought the Thermo-sash IIIE when we moved into our house 6 years ago. We had one very tall chocolate lab at the time of purchase and now have a normal sized yellow lab as well, 87 & 65 lbs each. They both use the door without hesitation, training took a handful of treats. They often hunt squirrels from inside the AC while looking through the window portion and then with a running start they leap FLY through the door out into the back yard. 6 years of doing this and the only thing I've had to replace were my wood floors from their peeling out prior to takeoff... This was by far worth every penny.

Best Investment You'll Ever Make!

I had it set up in less than ten minutes. Then another ten minutes to add all the weather stripping that comes with the door. It was REALLY blowing hard the day I installed this door. I had to smile as I watched the curtain over the window. It never moved! Not even a fraction of an inch! This window is THAT weather tight! This window will pay for itself in one winter on the money I will save on my heating bill.

Amazing Pet Door!

My dog loves her pet door, I love that it is high quality, nice looking, easily installed and fairly insulated from the Texas heat and as a Realtor, I love that it is not permanent and won't leave any evidence of ever being in the window.

No cutting. No holes. No regrets.

Endura Flap window inserts sit in your existing window track. They use spring tension to hold themselves in place (no screws required, no cutting required, no permanent modifications). When you want the window back to normal, you pop the insert out and the window works exactly the way it always has.

People who buy a window pet door don't want to cut into their wall, modify their door, or do anything they can't undo. They want a pet door they can take out when they move, when they sell, or when winter hits.

Renters install them without losing a security deposit. Catio owners use them as the doorway in. And the Thermo Sash 3e Pet Door variant is big enough for medium and large dogs through a tall sash window.

How to pick the right one

Sash windows are the up-and-down kind: you lift the bottom pane to open them. If your window slides vertically, you want a sash window pet door. It sits on the windowsill and the upper pane comes down to meet the top of the insert.

Horizontal sliding windows open side-to-side. The insert fits into the window track vertically and one of the sliding panes meets the side of the insert. Almost all single-story homes built since the 1990s have at least one of these.

You can't substitute one for the other, so it's worth a 10-second look at how your window opens before you order.

The most common reason a window pet door gets returned is a size mistake. Two minutes with the tape measure is all it takes to get it right.

For sash windows: measure the width of the window opening (inside the frame, side to side). That's your number.

For horizontal sliding windows: measure the height of the window opening (inside the frame, top to bottom of the track). That's your number.

All pet door types require a track width of 1" for aluminum frames, and 1-1/4" for vinyl frames.
