Frequently Asked Questions
My locking cover latch broke. Can I replace just the latch?
Yes. The locking cover latch is the spring-loaded clip that holds the cover in place, and it can be replaced on its own without buying a new cover. Larger covers use dual latches, so order the quantity that matches your size.
What does the retainer clip do, and why does mine look different from the photo?
The retainer clip secures the bottom piece of the flap so it stays seated and seals correctly. We've moved from the older metal clip to a more flexible plastic design, so a current replacement may look different from an older listing photo. The plastic version installs the same way and fits the same flaps, but also covers the full width of the flap opening, further reducing any chance of drafts getting through.
I lost the washers that hold the flap rod in place. Can I get replacements?
Yes. The flap rod runs through the plastic pieces at the top of the flap and is held by locking washers that are meant to be reused during a flap swap. If one is lost, the rod won't stay seated. You can order a replacement rod with washers so the flap holds securely again.
Which flap rod do I need, a door or wall mount version?
The correct flap rod depends on your door style. Door and standard frames use one length, while wall-mount models use another to span the deeper frame. Check whether your Endura Flap is a door, in-glass, or wall-mount unit, and match the rod to that mount type.
I'm missing screws for my wall-mount door, or one snapped during install. Can I order just the screws?
Yes. Wall-mount doors use threaded wall studs to join the interior and exterior frames through the wall, and they're still needed for the original wall models. If you lost one inside the wall cavity or snapped a head during assembly, you can order the studs individually rather than replacing the whole door.
Note: the threaded wall studs are only used for the original Endura Flap wall models. Any new pet door purchased within the last few years will not require these parts.
My wall-mount door is missing the hole plugs that cover the screws. Can I get more?
Yes. The hole plugs (screw caps) snap over the exposed screws or screw holes on the frame for a finished look. If they were missing from your box or lost during install, you can order replacements to match your frame color.
To select the style that fits your door model, note whether the screw is flush with the surface of the metal frame, where the screw cap is used just to cover the screw itself. Older model doors instead had an internal screw, reachable through a hole drilled into the exterior of the frame, and used the hole plugs.
