Endura replacement flaps are made with the original environmentally-friendly, polyolefin-based polymer material. They are made to withstand extreme weather conditions. If you are replacing a double flap, you will need to purchase two flaps, unless you only want to change one of them. The Endura Flap Dog Door Flap Replacement is a simple solution for fixing your worn flap without buying an entirely new door. Color selection is for Hole plugs on the Door Mount, Wall Mount and Severe Weather panels only (select white if you have a Brushed Aluminum Thermo Panel or Thermo Sash)

Installation Instructions

Endura Flap Door/Wall Mount & Vinyl Panel Insert Replacement Flap Installation:

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Magnetic Phillips head #2 screwdriver
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Drill

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: First remove the Endura Flap from the door or wall. To do this, you will need to remove the hole plugs. Don't worry, we sent you some extra ones! You can drill a hole in each plug and wiggle the plug out with a screwdriver to pull them off.

Step 2: Next unscrew the frame and remove the whole assembly from the door/wall.

Step 3: Now that the assembly that holds the flap is removed from the door/wall, look for a metal rod at the top of the frame that holds the flap. Remove a retainer ring from one end of the flap rod by forcing the ring off with a flathead screwdriver.

Note: If you are replacing the inside flap of a Double Flap Wall Mount, you will first need to unscrew the threaded rods and remove the aluminum tunnel to expose the screw heads of the flap rod. To do this, bend the tabs laying flat against the tunnel upwards so that you can detach the side tunnel pieces from the upper tunnel piece.

You will need to do the same thing for replacing the inside flap of a Double Flap Door Mount. This is because the tunnel pieces are attached to the interior frame, so they cover up the flap rod. You do not need to complete this step if you are replacing the exterior flap.

Step 4: Once you have removed a retainer ring from one end of the flap rod, you can push the rod through the flap frame until it comes out on the other side. Pull the rod out and remove the flap.

Step 5: Use a blow dryer to lightly heat the sides of the new flap and stretch them out to ensure a better seal.

Step 6: Before installing your new flap you should check to make sure that the magnets in the flap and the frame are attracting correctly. If they seem to be repelling, you probably need to flip the flap around so they work properly.

Step 7: Now slide the new flap in place in the frame, and guide the flap rod through the side of the frame, through the flap, and out the other side.

Step 8: Push the new retainer ring on by holding the other side of the rod in place while pushing the ring on using your finger. Each side only needs one ring, and the teeth need to bent facing away from the flap.

Step 9: Reinstall the flap and frame into the door or wall. Line the holes up so you can see light through them, then screw the frame into place. Once you’re sure everything is correct, put the new hole plugs in using a rubber mallet (or a hammer and wood). You can refer to Endura Pet Door installation videos in the videos tab to help with this step.

Endura Flap Thermo & Quick Panel and Horizontal Sliding Window Replacement Flap Installation:

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Magnetic Phillips head #2 screwdriver
  • flat head screwdriver

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Lay the panel down on its edge, so that you can see the screw holes that are on the sides of the panel.

Step 2: Remove the two screws nearest to the bottom of the panel on both sides.

Step 3: Locate the second set of screws, right under the glass on either side.

Step 4: Loosen each screw a quarter turn.

Step 5:Slide the flap assembly out of the bottom of the panel.

Step 6: Locate the rod that holds the flap.

Step 7: If you have retainer rings that are holding the rod in place then you can pop one off using the flat head screwdriver. Then slide the rod out and remove the old flap.

Step 8: Check that the magnets in the flap line up with the magnets in the frame to attract correctly.

Step 9: Use a blow dryer to lightly heat the sides of the new flap, and stretch to ensure a proper seal once installed.

Step 10: Put the flap in place and slide the rod back in through the frame and flap. If you had retainer rings, put a ring back on with the teeth pointing out away from the flap.

Step 11: Slide the flap assembly back in place in the bottom of the panel. Be sure that the tracks for the locking cover are on the same side as the thumb screws at the top of the panel.

Step 12: Screw in the bottom piece with the two screws that you removed.

Step 13: Tighten the screws that are under the glass.

Endura Flap Sash Window Replacement Flap Installation:

Step 9: Screw in the side piece that holds in the flap with the two screws that you removed.

installation

I received the replacement door in a very timely manner but haven't installed it yet.. I have had my pet door for 4-5 years or so and my dog loves going in and out of. It is starting to show a little wear but I am waiting until winter is on it's way so I can install the new flap and be ready for another cold, snowy winter in Reno NV.

Great dog door flap!

This double flap is so durable it would last forever if my Akita had not torn it up! It keeps the cold out and the heat in. This is the best dog door flap I have ever purchased!
