A Labrador and His Ducklings
A 15-year-old Labrador named Fred is the resident duckling guardian at Mountfitchet Castle in England. Fred was found with fifteen little ducklings whose mother abandoned them.
The ducklings appear to have taken a liking to Fred, cuddling up next to him as though he were their mother. But this isn’t the first time Fred has taken in a group of orphaned ducklings. Since 2018, Fred has repeatedly stepped up to the task, happily caring for abandoned ducklings until they are old enough to make it on their own.
Fred is the resident dog at Mountfitchet Castle in Essex, England. He is also the resident duckling caretaker and ensures that any abandoned ducklings on the castle property are well looked after. The ducklings can be seen cuddling up next to Fred and even taking rides on his back.
