Step 1Prep Your Slider
Clean the area with rubbing alcohol prior to starting for the best results.
You can put the draft stopper on the back edge of the sliding panel or on the outside. It is recommended to place the first one on the inside.
If it is too wide, you can trim lengthwise, but be careful not to trim too much, as that would prevent it from doing its job.
Remember that you want the draft stopper to just barely kiss the glass. If you overlap it too much, it will wear down the adhesive and will not stay installed for long.
Step 2Install the Draft Stopper
Start at the top and as you unroll it pull the strip covering the adhesive as you go down, not all at once. This will allow you to have more control and get it in a straighter line.
Trim any excess off at the bottom.
Depending on the top and bottom tracks that stick up, in order to get it to go the full length of the slider you may need to notch out small sections for it to fit over the railing.
FAQ
Can I paint the Draft Stopper to better match my sliding glass door dog door insert?
We do not recommend painting any kind of weatherstripping for glass doors or pet doors unless you use additional sealant since the paint can flake off when weather conditions make the rubber on the patio door draft stopper expand and contract.
Can I use this with an extreme weather pet door panel I already have?
Can I use weather stripping on the inside and on the outside to prevent sliding door draft?
Yes! This is a great solution for those in extreme weather conditions who need maximum insulation value for their sliding glass door pet door.
How wide is a strip of the sliding glass door draft stopper?
It covers gaps up to 1 ½” wide, perfect for preventing door drafts on sliding door pet doors.
What do I do if my door is too short or tall for any of the sizes listed?
For any height less than 81" or 96", you can use a pair of scissors to trim the draft stopper to the desired length. For any sliding glass doors taller than 96", you can purchase 2 draft stoppers and trim the second one to fit the remaining height you need.

One on the inside helped to stop drafts on really breezy days. We are ordering a second for the outside gap to make it an even better seal. The glue sticks better than any other we've used and love that it comes in white to match our sliding doors better.
